APPROACHES to Rehabilitation of Coral Reefs and Seagrasses and restoration of marine Environmental Pollution

The 4th workshop is conducted by the Institute of Oceanography from 26-28 August 2004 aims to review main scientific results achieved over 30 months of project implementation. More than 150 participants including researchers, managers and official delegates in and outside Vietnam will participate. On 28 August, participants visit Ngang Island, Binh Dinh province as a pilot area for model of coral reefs rehabilitation.
Rehabilitation of coral reefs and seagrasses has been succeeded in recent years. However, conservation of these ecosystems plays more vital role to meet the project objectives.
Beside scientific reviews, capability to apply and disseminate the results for socio-economic development and national defense of Vietnam is also discussed in the workshop. Final reports also scheduled.
