Vietnam is a maritime country with the coastline about more than 3,260 km long and thousands islands so the resources from the Bien Dong (East Sea) play an important role in the development of the country. The exploration for reasonable and sustainable exploitation of resources and protection of the environment in the Bien Dong is the main objective of the IO and all Vietnameses.

I hope that the website of IO may supply you with the useful information about marine science carried out by not only our staff but also other institutions in Vietnam and I also hope that via this website (forum, feedback) we could have opportunity of collaboration in study and information exchange.

Your contribution to make our website more useful is highly appreciated
